Truly Yummy Shawarma Chicken

Truly Yummy Shawarma Chicken

Truly Yummy gluten free and dairy free shawarma chicken served with my Truly Yummy Hummus, Truly Yummy Greek Salad and gluten free pitta breads is a firm favourite among my family and friends. Everyone gets to build their own little pocket of yumminess.

While there are plenty of homemade shawarma paste recipes, I prefer a good quality shop bought version which is gluten free and dairy free as it not only saves time but also cuts down on the number of ingredients needed for this family feast. I have tested many branded pastes, but the one I recommend below is gluten free, dairy free and truly yummy especially when combined with the other marinade ingredients.

Although I’ve specified chicken breasts in the recipe, you can easily double the marinade for a whole or spatchcocked chicken. Just remember to score the breasts and legs so the yummy flavours can seep in. Whether cooked in the oven, on a BBQ or griddle pan, this Middle Eastern inspired feast is one we enjoy all year round.
