Truly Yummy Tacos

Quick gluten free and dairy free tacos made with shop-bought ingredients and fresh homemade sides for an easy meal everyone will love.
Why You’ll Love These Gluten Free Tacos
If you’ve recently become gluten free, dairy or both, you may feel overwhelmed by the thought of making every meal completely from scratch. Equally, life is busy and there isn’t always time to cook everything yourself. The good news is that there are some excellent gluten free and dairy free products available. When paired with a few homemade sides, they can be transformed into a truly yummy meal the whole family will enjoy time and time again.
Shop-Bought Ingredients, Homemade Flavour
This is not an advert and I’m not being paid to recommend any of these products. They are simply items I genuinely buy and use in my own kitchen because they make gluten free and dairy free cooking quicker, easier and just as enjoyable. You truly don’t have to miss out.
How To Serve My Truly Yummy Tacos
My Truly Yummy Tacos recipe uses shop-bought crunchy taco shells and a taco seasoning mix, both of which are readily available in the regular aisles of most UK supermarkets. The taco seasoning mix I use does not contain any declarable allergens, although it is not specifically labelled gluten free. If you would prefer to make your own, I’ve included my homemade taco seasoning blend in the notes below. Making your own also allows you to adjust the spice level to suit your own taste.
I serve the tacos shells with mince beef coated in the taco seasoning mix, my Truly Yummy Tomato Salsa, my Truly Yummy Guacamole and finely shredded little gem lettuce. Everything is served separately so everyone can build their own tacos exactly how they like them. For family members who aren’t dairy free, I also put a bowl of grated cheddar and tub of sour cream on the table.
Perfect For Busy Weeknights and Sharing
Not only is this a quick and easy midweek meal the whole family enjoys, it’s also a brilliant informal dinner to share with friends. If you’re catering for vegetarians, simply swap the minced beef for a tin of black beans or precooked puy lentils mixed with the taco seasoning for an equally delicious alternative.
If you enjoy this recipe, I recommend you try my Truly Yummy Fajitas. It follows the same principle of combining carefully chosen shop-bought ingredients with homemade sides to create an easy, tasty meal.
